Samuel W. Adams is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Loyola University Maryland. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He also holds an M.S. in Quantitative Financial Economics from Oklahoma State University and an undergraduate degree in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Arkansas. His research focuses on regulation and financial intermediation with an emphasis on bank risk management, regulation, and governance. 

His research has been published in leading finance journals, The Journal of Banking and Finance, cited by the SEC and the Congressional Research Service, and was a semi-finalist for Best Paper in Market Microstructure at the 2022 Annual Financial Management Association meeting. Before joining academia, he worked as a distressed debt analyst at Oaklawn Investments in Dallas, TX. He has completed Level I of the CFA program and Level I of the CMT program.
